Welcome Home, Brother: Memoirs of Vietnam War Veterans made its debut at the museum on December 21. Author Michel Robertson presented copies to all the veterans whose stories are in the book.
Veterans spent time with other veterans, asking them to sign their copies of the book, sharing more experiences, and meeting new friends. One veteran commented, “When I was in Vietnam and after, there was nothing special. We just felt like we were doing our jobs. Now look how we’re being recognized.”
These 31 stories were featured in the Transylvania Times newspaper over a year’s period, and are now in book form as an honor project for the Veterans History Museum of the Carolinas and the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Asheville Chapter. All proceeds from sales will go to these organizations.
Welcome Home, Brother is available on Amazon for $20.00 and will be for sale at the museum when it re-opens Feb. 5. To purchase books earlier, please email Michel Robertson.
All proceeds from sales of this book will be donated to the Veterans History Museum of the Carolinas and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #124.
