Jake Johnson, North Carolina State Representative, surprised Veterans History Museum founder and curator with a plaque from the NC State Legislature at the museum on March 7. The recognition was recommended by Brevard resident Larry Chapman, a museum board member.

The plaque read:
Be it known to all that the House and Senate of the State of North Carolina present this certificate of recognition to Emmett Casciato for its tireless efforts to found and maintain the Veterans History Museum of the Carolina, and for his dedication to bring awareness to the sacrifices our veterans have made to preserve our freedom.

Signed by:

  • Jake Johnson
  • Representative of House District 113
  • Chuck Edwards, Senator, District 48
  • Tim Moore, Speaker of the House
  • Phil Berger, President Pro Tempore of the Senate

It was a packed house with approximately 100 people who attended the presentation, which directly followed the Quilts of Valor ceremony at the museum.
